HOT WATER TECHNOLOGY
A few years ago, we discussed heat pump hot water heater add-ons that can
be retrofit to any existing electric or gas heater that will boost their operating
COP to the point that the electric usage for example is reduced by 60% or more
to make the same amount of hot water!
Relatively recently, a lot of hot water heater manufacturers are building the
heaters brand new with heat pumps as part of the package. It is amazing when
anyone can drop their hot water costs by 60% or more just by changing the heater
and the efficiency is way beyond any conventional gas or electric heater.
